Bench Scientist Biologist II

Bench Scientist Biologist II needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific's client located in Collegeville, PA area.

This position is in a cellular biology laboratory of a major healthcare company, and requires someone with a Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline with at least 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or a Master's with at least 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate, characterize, and optimize biological reagents (cells, viruses) as needed by sponsored program teams.
• Work in a matrix team environment to enable optimal delivery of project.
• Support of high throughput protein expression or CRISPR gene editing platforms.
• Set up and break down of large scale experiments.

Qualifications:

• Extensive cell culture experience/aseptic technique (adherent, suspension).
• Viral experience (baculovirus, bacmam, lentivirus, or adenovirus).
• Experience with recombinant protein expression systems via cellular transfections or transductions.
• 96- / 384-well assay formats.
• Skilled in production of recombinant viruses and proteins (at small or large scale) to enable early drug discovery projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of cell biology with practical knowledge one or more of the following:
  • • Sterile insect, mammalian, and/or bacterial cell culture experience
    • Operation of bioreactor systems
    • Generation of batches of adherent or suspension cell lines (small and/or large scale)
