The Genomic and Observational Data Sciences team within the Humana Genetics and Computational Biology (HGCB) organisation is seeking a program manager to facilitate agile project management, decision-making, and participation in the advancement of HGCB data strategy and integrity objectives.

GSK aims to improve the number of successful late-stage clinical trials for innovative medicines, by both identifying and advancing drug targets that have strong evidence of a causal role in disease biology. The HGCB organisation is applying the best talent, data, and in silico technologies in genetics and genomics to identify, understand, and progress programs that have the greatest potential to become medicines for patients. The Genomic and Observational Data Science team provides robust, scalable analysis of genomic and genetic data sourced from internal assays, strategic collaborators, and from the public domain, in partnership with computational biologists, statistical geneticists, and other GSK scientists.

The successful candidate will drive mature and consistent program delivery in a multidisciplinary, collaborative and scientifically driven environment, interacting with GSK scientists and key academic collaborators to advance drug discovery and clinical development in multiple disease areas. The scope of supported projects will be broad, including external data collaborations, analysis and tool implementations, and departmental data integrity initiatives.

The selected Program Manager(s) will:
  • Provide program and project management for the HGCB organization to adopt and execute agile development, delivery, and decision-making practices
  • Manage the development and deployment of novel analysis methods to identify the best genomic and genetic evidence for links between genotype and disease, and data ingestion efforts to feed these analyses
  • Defining and deploying business rules ensuring compliance with HGCB data integrity objectives.
  • Partner with GSK scientists and external collaborators to ensure smooth planning, prioritization, and reporting processes, leveraging tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Facilitate interdepartmental planning and status processes
  • Facilitate executive reporting of status, resourcing needs, interdependencies, get-to-green plans, and required decisions to HGCB and Research leadership
