The Department of Environmental and Geosciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Environmental and Geosciences at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2022. This position will help strengthen our programs in environmental and geosciences and will primarily contribute to undergraduate degree programs in environmental science, geography, and geology. The particular area of expertise requested is open, but the successful candidate should possess specializations in one or more of the following areas: atmospheric science/meteorology, climatology, earth systems science, and/or other related subject areas. Experience with geostatistics and the application of geospatial technologies to areas of expertise are a plus.

Sam Houston State University values quality teaching: the teaching load is three lectures per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to teach an introductory core curriculum course in Weather and Climate and to develop upper-level courses in their area of expertise.
