Executive Director

The Ohio Forestry Association is a non-profit trade association with 600+ members, that supports the management of Ohio's forest resources and improvement of business conditions for the benefits of its members in their endeavors to engage in forestry-related industries and enterprises. OFA members include loggers, landowners, sawmills, paper manufacturers, equipment dealers, secondary manufacturers, professional foresters. This position reports to the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Key Responsibilities:

Communicates OFA policies, positions, and priorities to members, strategic partners, and public audiences, including elected officials and agency leaders
Ensures OFA's financial integrity by developing and implementing balanced budgets.
Achieves OFA's mission and goals through efficient and effective program management as directed by the Board
Manage and collaborate with professional staff.
Develops efforts to recruit members and increase OFA membership.
Builds and maintains relationships with OFA members and strategic partners
Assists members of the forestry and forest products industry with issues and opportunities.
Conducts OFA activities in accordance with the strategic priorities and operating policies established by the Board.
Cooperates with and offers input to Board on policies and procedures as principal liaison between the Board, staff, partners, and membership.
Develops and implements revenue development plans and actions.
Engage in legislative process as needed

Requirements:

At least three years of successful experience leading and managing an organization or a work unit with the full range of managerial responsibilities (planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling/monitoring).
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Significant travel within the state of Ohio. Limited overnight travel is required.
The ability to bring together stakeholders to negotiate and facilitate complex natural resources management issues to advance OFA's positions and mission.
Management skills in leadership, communication, personnel management, project management, fiscal management, governance, membership development, and fundraising.
