5600! That is the number of associates across the globe at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). This division is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.
The Biology 4 Drug Discovery group in Cambridge, US, is seeking a B.S./M.S. Scientist to boost our efforts to discover novel therapeutics and drug targets. This group falls within the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics (CBT) department where we merge advanced technical capabilities with deep scientific expertise to deliver innovations at the forefront of science. With this position, we are seeking an outstanding biologist to join our team to challenge and redefine what it means to drug the un-drugged.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Perform research as a leading bench scientist
* Develop disease-relevant cell-based assays and perform mechanistic studies to characterize novel targets and compounds in close collaboration with our disease area partners (including, but not limited, to oncology, neuroscience, immunology, ophthalmology and respiratory).
* Design and execute cell and molecular biology experiments, interpret and challenge results, and generate new hypotheses and next steps
* Work in interdisciplinary teams to share expertise and collaborate toward shared goals
* Frequent oral data communication/presentation
* Organizational skills for design and tracking experiments, study results, and reagents
