Job Description
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Director of Environmental Health and Safety for a electronics recycling company in Brockport, NY.

The QEHS & Compliance Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, management and monitoring of QEHS (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety) Management System.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance field
  • Ability to balance compliance with business needs and help to incorporate both.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills including Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Fully engaged and self-starting. Possess a strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment Demonstrated ability/experience in an environment of change and continuous improvement

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and excel skills as well as demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data to analyze information while still seeing the "big picture"
  • Project management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Results oriented with a willingness to get the job done

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Office/Warehouse/Production environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Improve, maintain and monitor the QEHS Management System, including monitoring performance to regulations applicable to the electronics industry
  • Oversee all QEHS Audits of our facilities and processes
  • Present updates, findings, and recommendations to internal counterparts and upper management
  • Assess existing as well as develop new tools and processes
  • Establish operating procedures that may have a company-wide effect on monitoring processes and protocols
  • Work with all staff to recommend modifications to organizational policies and/or training as a result of compliance monitoring findings
  • Manage and maintain downstream vendor relationships and compliance audits and reviews to support the company's due diligence and continuing audit programs;
  • Document compliance monitoring, including maintaining and archiving various records
  • Attend relevant compliance training sessions and conferences and maintain ongoing professional credentials if applicable to the job requirements
  • Documents non-conformities and its process, management agenda meetings, corrective action reports, facility inspection reports, emergency drills, equipment condition reports, injury/incident investigations, employee training records, forklift training and certification, SDS sheets
  • Ensure all actions and products comply with the company's commitment to quality and regulations governing the QEHS Management System
  • Direct the internal Safety Committee team to drive and communicate to all staff various initiatives and results
  • Working closely with multiple departments consisting of Operations, HR, Logistics, Product Sales and Admin to manage facility safety programs while addressing root cause and corrective actions for safety issues and development of safer work environment
  • Recommend methods for improving product processing and packaging as it relates to the preparation of material movement to downstream recycling and service partners; maintain shipment records and return documentation from downstream partners
  • Provide technical and administrative support for permit applications, reporting, and regulatory compliance as it pertains to universal waste, storm water, electronics, solid waste, hazardous waste, etc. on a federal, state, and/or local level
  • Act as the Management Representative who, irrespective of all other duties and responsibilities, shall be responsible and have authority that includes:

1. Ensuring that QEH&S Management System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with R2:2013 Standard/RIOS: 2016;

2. Reporting to top management on the performance of the QEH&S Management System and any necessary changes for improvement;

3. Ensuring that awareness of customer requirements is promoted throughout Sunnking, Inc;

4. Ensuring that health and safety is properly addressed and managed within the system;

5. The organizational freedom to resolve matters pertaining to the QEH&SMS.
