What You'll Do As an EHS Manager, you'll be part of our Global Tools and Storage team located in Sedalia, MO. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is a member of the Site Leadership team and will lead all phases of the safety program including the development and implementation of policies, procedures and training to promote a strong safety culture. Additionally, this individual will support the facility with ensuring a healthy and environmentally-safe work environment and ensure compliance with all corporate, local, state, and federal Environmental, Health and Safety requirements at the Stanley Black & Decker Sedalia Operations manufacturing facility and distribution center. You'll get to: * Support creation of EH&S goals for the facility and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EH&S culture, compliance, and results. * Lead all applicable permitting and compliance efforts. * Manage facility's ISO 14001 and 45001 activities to achieve EH&S goals and objectives. Sustain impacts, aspects and hazardous risk assessments. * Drive EH&S and sustainable culture in the operation through interface with site leadership team for collaborative metrics ownership. * Implement applicable EH&S policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal rules and regulations. * Drive and promote safety culture and employee engagement throughout the facility. * Use established EH&S data processes to manage and report data such as injuries and illnesses, compliance activities, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EH&S action items and other pertinent information. Analyze safety data to lead and coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement. * Ensure compliance audits are completed on a regular basis to detect existing or potential risks and hazards. Ensure the recommended corrective or preventative measures are completed in a timely manner. * Ensure contractors and subcontractors have implemented an effective safety process by conducting pre-qualifications and by visiting/auditing work in progress on a regular basis. * Establish and maintain facility specific management plans for hazardous waste and non-hazardous materials. Manage all recycling waste streams at the facility. * Organize and manage teams to identify and implement safety improvements, waste reductions and resource conservation. * Drive incident and near miss reporting. Perform root cause analysis on incidents and injuries to determine specific actions needed to prevent their recurrence. * Evaluate non-standard tasks to uncover risks and identify corrective actions. * Prepare technical EH&S regulatory reporting. * Oversee workers' compensation program administration, including working with all parties to aggressively manage and support transitional duty and return to work programs. * Develop and implement programs for pollution prevention/sustainability. * Complete risk assessments and recommend control measures for all potential areas of concern. * Manage the safety data sheet, management of change/new chemical request and new equipment installation processes. * Oversee the facility emergency response team to ensure appropriate training in emergency response, spill response, disaster preparedness and crisis management. * Serve as the primary EH&S contact for facility EH&S concerns. * All other duties as assigned. You also have: * Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety (or equivalent) preferred * 5+ years of experience with an emphasis in health and safety management or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment requiring adherence to environmental compliance obligations and strong health and safety practices * Certified Safety Professional (or equivalent) preferred * Experience managing compliance with environmental permits * Strong ability to lead, motivate, engage and influence others from the manufacturing floor to the facility leadership team * Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment within a complex reporting matrix. * Dynamic communication skills - verbal and written * Good computer skills in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and EH&S culture concepts is preferred * Ability to adjust work hours as needed What You'll Receive You'll receive a competitive salary and a great benefits plan: * Medical, dental, life, vision, wellness program, disability, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off and tuition reimbursement. * Discounts on Stanley Black & Decker tools and other partner programs.
