United States of America - Maryland, Annapolis Job Summary AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist with strong technical experience to work within a team to complete environmental investigation and remediation projects. We seek a technically proficient individual that has strong technical and team building skills, and demonstrated experience successfully supporting investigation and remediation of contaminated sites, and some experience with underground storage tanks, contaminant sources, nature and extent, migration pathways, and fate and transport mechanisms. A successful candidate must be able to write and convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills will be necessary to work in our collaborative team-oriented offices; strong interpersonal skills are a must. The individual should have relevant technical background in environmental science, geology, or hydrogeology but may also consider physical sciences or engineering. Specific responsibilities include: * Support a wide range of environmental investigation and remediation projects . * Contribute directly to the preparation and review of technical project deliverables (e.g., work plans, remedial investigations, and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments). * Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion sampling * Contribute on projects regarding technical approach, numerical analysis, cost estimation, planning, design, scheduling, quality control, and safety. * Job duties will involve both field work and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required. * Knowledge of underground storage tank regulations state regulations. * Management of subcontractors, field subcontractors in the field. * Evaluating complex environmental data sets, including the use of modeling and statistics. * Preparing, work plans, and technical reports, and presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators * Actively communicating with the technical team and Project Manger About AECOM At AECOM , we believe infrastructure creates opportunity for everyone. Minimum Requirements * Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical discipline, including but not limited to geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or environmental engineering. * 2+ years of experience as an environmental consultant, industry representative, or regulator versed in contaminated site investigation, remediation, and waste management. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Phase I, Phase II environmental assessments. * Experience developing and preparing reports for submittal and acceptance for technical clients and regulators. * Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and project team. * Ability to write and review complex technical documents, perform high level review and strategy * Ability to prepare graphics and reports that present complex technical matter in a clear and concise manner * Computer proficient in MS Office, and a variety of statistical programs helpful. * Strong team worker, flexible * Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work * Ability to multitask * Strong communication skills at all levels * Organized and able to work within a team of technical experts What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future.
