Dal-Tile is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to join our TEAM! As the Environmental Health & Safety Technician, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support to the EHS dept assisting in the development and implementation of environmental, safety and health programs within a Manufacturing Environment.

Primary Objective

Fellow support team member of the EHS dept assisting in the development and implementation of environmental, safety, and health programs within a Manufacturing Environment.

Major Function and Scope

  • Administrative support for the EHS Department.
  • Coordinates Plant Safety meetings.
  • Conducts new employee orientation training sessions as assigned.
  • Promotes Behavior Based Safety and the continuous improvement of the process.
  • Works with shift safety teams to provide support for all safety related issues.
  • Assist in conducting hazard and safety assessments and maintains applicable records.
  • Provides Minor First Aid as needed to the Team Members needing medical attention.
  • Provide administrative support for Investigations.
  • Informs EHS Manager on all aspects of plant environmental, safety, health and security issues.
  • Assist in development and coordination of safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Coordinates with the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with related governmental regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Interfaces with the EHS vendors ensuring quality products and services
  • Initiate reports and investigations and tracks job injuries and lost workdays.
  • Helps prepare and submit annual OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) application.
  • Assists in the investigation of new and/or existing areas of opportunities.
  • Generates weekly reports involving project/objective updates, findings, issues, and planned future work.
  • Maintains teammates training records and updates schedules training as needed.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as required.
  • Participate and support the Plant EHS Team.


Experience and Knowledge Required

1 to 3 years related experience/and or education Certified First-Aid/CPR/AED current or in pursuit of certification. Related work experience, in a manufacturing environment considered a plus. Training development and presentation experience as well as Knowledge and education of workers compensation compliance requirements and OSHA regulations a plus.

Competencies

Ability to effectively communicate ideas and knowledge to appropriate levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing. Exercises independent judgment and initiative. Understand, interpret data analysis. Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as other automated programs.
