It is an exciting time to join Lilly. Our Biotherapeutics Discovery Research Center at San Diego is growing in key areas. Our research group focuses on discovering innovative biotherapeutic medicines saving lives and improving patients' quality of life, by applying innovative protein discovery, engineering, and characterization technologies; thus, making a meaningful difference through contributions to the development of novel biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs!

We are searching for a scientist with experience in optimization of cell-based assays including cell-line generation and characterization. Key Responsibilities:
Characterization of receptor density and functional activity from multiple mammalian expression systems by Flow Cytometry and analytical techniquesGenerate array of membrane proteins for evaluation in selection and screening workflows during antibody discovery campaigns.Establish cell-based assays for antibody activity screening.Work collaboratively with project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines.Interact efficiently with the antibody discovery platform teams, in vitro assay development and automation groups in San Diego and Indianapolis.

Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Biological sciences (Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or similar field)3 or more years relevant laboratory experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
Experience in Flow Cytometry; sample collection and data analysis (proficient in FlowJo).Experience with 96-well cell-based chemiluminescent reporter assaysStandard issue culture techniques, cell maintenance, media formulation, and experience with established transfection methodsStrong technical, organization, documentation, and communication skills (verbal and written). Able to track ongoing projects and discuss data.Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis and record keeping skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.Experience in single-cell sorting would be helpful.
