We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated scientist for an associate position within the Immunology Discovery Group. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary organization, interacting with colleagues to explore small molecule and bioproduct therapeutics for autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases. This will include the identification and in vivo validation of new drug targets as well as involvement in ongoing research projects, with the primary focus being to develop preclinical animal models. You will provide in vivo data to support pre-clinical screening, design and mechanism of action studies of candidate therapeutic molecules.

Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve mechanism of action of small molecule and protein therapeutic drugs in in-vivo settingsAssist in developing animal models to support in advancement of autoimmune/inflammatory drug targets by the use of both acute pharmacodynamic models and longer term disease modelsStrong problem-solving skills and creativity with a willingness to search and review the scientific literature independently

Basic Qualifications:

B.S in Biology, Immunology or related field with at least 2 or more years of applicable research experience in an academic institute, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry

Additional Skills/Preferences:
Extensive in vivo experience with respect to rodent handling, dosing and necropsyBasic knowledge of cellular biological techniques (e.g., gene expression analysis, ELISA, multiplex cytokine analysis)Immunohistochemistry experienceKnowledge of pharmacodynamic, autoimmune/inflammatory and transgenic/knockout model development is helpfulStrong communication and multitasking skillsAbility to work independently to design and complete experiments, analyze, interpret and present experimental data
