We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our Neuroscience Department, devoted to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for CNS diseases. We are seeking a candidate with both IN VITRO and IN VIVO expertise to help support target research, validation and new technology development. The candidate will provide scientific and technical support in the discovery, characterization, and preclinical development of therapeutics targeting neurodegenerative brain disorders.
As the R&D Associate, Neuroscience/Glial Biology/Neurodegeneration, a typical day might include the following:
In vitro
In addition to hands-on experimental work, the candidate will be expected to:
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a minimum of Bachelors Degree with 2+ Years experience or MS + 0 years experience. Strong in vivo and in vitro skills needed. In addition, you should be able to Perform advanced data analysis as well as trouble shooting with minimal supervision.. Keep up-to-date and well-organized records of experiments. Communicate and report experimental findings at group meetings
As the R&D Associate, Neuroscience/Glial Biology/Neurodegeneration, a typical day might include the following:
In vitro
- Molecular cloning
- Protein extraction, western blotting, ELISA
- Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry
- Cell culture of immortalized cell lines and primary neurons and glia
- Cell-based assays (e.g., cell proliferation or toxicity assays)
- Animal handling, behavioral assays, tissue dissection & collection
- Animal surgical/operating procedures (e.g., stereotactic brain injections, intrathecal injections)
- In vivo dosing of compounds (e.g., tail vein injections, etc).
In addition to hands-on experimental work, the candidate will be expected to:
- Perform advanced data analysis as well as trouble shooting with minimal supervision.
- Keep up-to-date and well-organized records of experiments
- Communicate and report experimental findings at group meetings
- You have strong organizational, time-management, and presentation skills
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to easily work with different groups both large and small.
- You have a strong desire to develop your skills as well as your career.
