The Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks a postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to computational research on ocean biogeochemistry and chemical-microbial networks using numerical modeling techniques and data analysis. The candidate will work directly with Prof. Scott Doney in the Department of Environmental Sciences and will be part of the Center for Chemical Currencies of a Microbial Planet (C-CoMP) https://ccomp-stc.org/
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The completion of a Ph.D. in oceanography, biology, or related field is required by appointment start date. Candidates required to have experience in numerical modeling of microbes. Background in ocean or aquatic systems is preferred. Ability to use advanced statistical data analysis software such as Matlab, R or SciPy, verbal and written communication abilities, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team, and ability to organize and complete tasks are required skills.
