Position Title: Industrial Hygienist Location: Aurora, IL Indoor Science is the premier provider of indoor air quality, environmental health and industrial hygiene consulting services. Job Overview: We are seeking an Environmental/Industrial Hygiene consultant to manage daily operations of our diverse indoor air quality, environmental health and industrial hygiene consulting services. This role serves as an integrated member of the team as a project manager and subject matter expert. This role implements and supports aggressive business expansion initiatives. Field work will be performed at clients' project sites, typically located within the Chicagoland area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in related consulting services. The Senior Consultant will utilize problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify strategic solutions to clients' environmental quality and occupational health concerns. This role will report directly to the Director of Operations. Main Responsibilities: * Perform environmental quality and occupational health consulting services with excellent competence * Assess indoor air quality, environmental health and industrial hygiene concerns at various client sites including offices, schools, homes, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, and industrial facilities * Manage consulting services from start to finish, developing projects' scope of work, determining methodologies, interpreting findings, and making appropriate recommendations * Demonstrate superb project management skills in repeatedly exceeding client expectations * Support peer consultants and maintain core business operations, driving projects to completion * Function as a seller/doer in providing consulting services to clients, preparing proposals, managing project communications, supporting core operations, and meeting management expectations * Identify and pursue business opportunities while delivering responsive, high quality services * Evaluate work environments through various area and personal monitoring strategies to determine compliance against regulatory and recommended occupational exposure levels * Speak with prospective clients and describe our services and related costs * Maintain, calibrate and know how to use various monitoring instrumentation and sampling equipment * Develop high quality written deliverables such as reports, drawings and project specifications * Train current and new staff consultants in indoor environmental quality and industrial hygiene practices Experience and Skills: Basic Qualifications: * BS degree in related field (industrial hygiene, public health, environmental science, occupational safety, biology, chemistry, engineering, etc.) * 6-10 years of experience in the field of environmental and industrial hygiene consulting, or similar * ACAC Council-certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE), Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC), or similar professional certification required * State licenses for hazardous building material assessments and inspections preferred * Excellent decision-making skills and expertise in business management and statistical analysis * Physically able to crawl, climb and walk on uneven surfaces such as scaffolding, rooftops, elevated platforms and temporary working surfaces * Possess driver's license and vehicle
