Post Doctorate- Cell Biology/Genome

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Post Doctorate- Cell Biology/Genome, are to:

• Adapt and optimize a cell based assay for high throughput screening;
• Plan large-scale genetic variant screening experiments based on Deep Mutational Scanning, and drive their execution in close alignment with internal partners and external vendors;
• Plan and drive screen preparation work such as cell model selection, assay development, proof-of-concept experiments;
• Interpret biologically screen results together with a project-dedicated data scientist and project team;
• Be part of an international and interdisciplinary research team closely interacting with your colleagues from the entire R&D organization of Bayer Pharma and Crop Science, as well as several contract research organizations;
• Strengthen the visibility of the team's research and scientific excellence through publishing and actively engaging with the internal and external scientific community.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. (defended by 12/31/21) in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar, with an excellent track record of productivity;
• Track record of publications and presentations showing your result-orientation and passion to innovate;
• Excellent team spirit, presentation and publication-writing skills along with the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment with strong focus and passion.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Deep Mutational Scanning and genetic perturbation screening;
• Experience in automation and automated assay workflow.
