American College of Clinical Pharmacology
Axcella is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the research and development of novel multi-targeted interventions to treat complex diseases and improve health. Our product candidates are generated from our proprietary, human‑focused development platform and harness the power of endogenous metabolic modulators (EMMs), a broad family of molecules that fundamentally impact and regulate human metabolism.
We are growing quickly as we advance in the clinic, and we are seeking exceptional people to join our team. We value bright minds, collaborative spirits and a willingness to think outside the box.
Requirements
Axcella Health is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our dynamic Research Team in Cambridge, MA in a pipeline development position. In this role, s/he will work with internal and external stakeholders leading early discovery projects to identify and advance novel pipeline opportunities and the development of combination products. A deep understanding of EMM biology, especially amino acids, and their role in human disease, is highly desirable. Experience in early discovery, broad expertise working across multiple disease areas, and exceptional ability to learn biology in new areas are required. The candidate will collaborate across systems biology, computational sciences, biology, and clinical to identify and bring forward clinically relevant pipeline opportunities and advance these opportunities into the clinic, in addition to being a key partner in the development of platform capabilities. The candidate will be expected to thrive in the fast-paced, dynamic, and nimble environment of a biotech company that depends on strong collaboration internally (e.g. clinical, clinical pharmacology, computational biology) and externally (e.g. academics and CROs).
