What you will do
The Stryker Redmond site Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer will be responsible for driving and executing site specific EHS programs in accordance with the corporate Stryker EHS policies and programs and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations. This position will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment dedicated to identifying and eliminating hazards, managing risks, and improving the overall quality of life for our employees.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, Implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical)
  • Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling
  • Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist
  • Interacts with others in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions
  • Monitors industrial health compliance

What you need
  • Bachelor's degree- required
  • 2+ years related work experience- required
  • Experience with workers injury response and reporting requirements- required
  • Proven written and verbal communications skills; ability to write clear and concise reports and interact with team members of various levels of the organization and cultures globally- required
  • Environmental Health & Safety work experience in a regulated industry including medical device manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and pharma- preferred
  • Familiarity with coordinating and executing plans to maintain an ISO-certified quality system- preferred
  • Proficient in programs covering areas such as regulatory compliance, risk management, internal auditing and training for employees- preferred
  • AED/CPR and First Aid certified- preferred
  • Experienced managing EH&S regulatory compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and OSAS 18001 Safety Management System - preferred
