Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Environmental Health Analyst at the Analyst level to support the Division of Health and Environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidate(s) will become part of an interdisciplinary team conducting novel and required research in support of national-level environmental programs. The analyst will support updating various environmental regulations, draft toxicology profiles, perform chemical risk assessments, exposure assessment/modeling, and methods development in these areas

The successful candidate will conduct research, literature reviews, including systematic reviews, synthesize of toxicological and environmental/occupational epidemiology studies into reports, and conduct statistical and other quantitative analyses including dose-response modeling to support the above-mentioned projects. The analyst will also contribute to the preparation of reports, memos, papers, web sites, presentations, and other materials for use by senior environmental managers and release to the public.

Minimum Qualifications

* BA/BS (3 - 5) OR MA/MBA (Entry Level) years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters of Public Health (MPH) OR a Masters of Science (MS) AND at least 2 years of experience in environmental health, risk assessment and/or toxicology
* The preferred candidate will have an outstanding academic record and work experience in the field.
* Coursework in toxicology, risk assessment, quantitative methods, epidemiology, biology, physiology, physical and/or environmental sciences is desirable.
* Excellent oral communication, writing, and analytical skills are essential.
* Experience with PBPK models, dose-response modeling including benchmark dose software, NHANES data analysis and/or R programming preferred.
* Must have proven technical expertise.
