Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Toxicologist with excellent organizational, analytical, research, and communication skills. The position will report to our Fairfax Virginia office.

We are in search of a highly motivated team member to join our family of engineers and scientists to support our human health risk assessment work with federal clients, as well as support various environmental projects with federal, state, and municipal clients. In this position you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world water quality issues, while learning the skills needed to be a successful consultant. Your work will involve routine and non-routine assignments related to water quality projects of substantial variety and complexity. Management and technical responsibilities can increase in complexity with training under supervision.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Perform literature searches in support of human health risk assessment- and water quality-related projects.
  • Extract and summarize information from journal articles, and federal and state reports in spreadsheets or technical reports.
  • Support various environmental projects (e.g., stormwater management, nutrients research, policy support).
  • Perform tasks to support environmental projects, including
  • Taking technical notes for webinars/workshops
  • Implementing QA/QC
  • Researching chemical methods for water quality analyses
  • Providing workshop logistical support

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • M.S. in Environmental Toxicology (or related field) with emphasis on human health toxicology and environmental exposures
  • 1-2 years' relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Literature review and technical writing experience
  • Knowledge of environmental water quality policy is a plus
  • Highly dependable, detail-oriented and responsive
  • Excitement to work in a dynamic work environment
