Job Description:
Parsons is looking for environmental scientists, motivated to make a difference and ready to join a great team! Is this you?
Environmental Scientist performing a variety of environmental field tasks by applying field sampling techniques and analyses. Some assignments may involve the use of computer software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, CAD, etc.). Willingness to travel to field sites in NYC and NJ is expected.
Requirement:
* Performs independent field work or as a team and gathers all types of field data pertinent to the assigned projects, performs soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs, oversee subcontractors in a field setting, develops materials and completes reports on finished field work.
* Ability to travel to and from field locations, primarily located in and around NYC, is expected. A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position. The candidate needs to be a detail-oriented, team player with good communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills.
* May provide technical guidance to lower level Geologists, Scientists, or Technicians.
* Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
* 4-year Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
* 3 - 8 years of related work experience of expertise focusing on remedial investigations of petrochemical, former MGP, and superfund sites.
* Proficiency in various computer software applications
* Familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations in NY and NJ is required
* Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
* Thorough understanding of all environmental rules and regulations
