Monogram Biosciences is a subsidiary of Labcorp specializing in the development and performance of high complexity cell-based and molecular assays to support clinical trials and diagnostics. Monogram currently has an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic Researcher to work within the R&D team. The selected candidate will join an integrated team developing and performing novel cell-based and molecular assays that support virology and pharmacogenomics programs to enable drug/vaccine/gene therapy development and inform individualized healthcare decisions. This position is based at our South San Francisco, CA, facility.
Principal responsibilities of this position include:
* Design and execute experiments, critically analyze data and interpret results
* The development, optimization, scale up and validation of new assays
* The evaluation and implementation of new technology platforms
* The application of these assays/technologies in clinical trials and research projects
* Internal studies or external collaborations to define and validate clinical utility
* Assay training and transfer to a clinical reference laboratory environment
* Maintain accurate and appropriate records
* Draft documents/reports and prepare/give presentations to colleagues as required
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
* BS degree in Virology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related area of Biological Sciences with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an MS degree with experience in R&D
* Proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, cell based assays, nucleic acid amplification, molecular cloning and nucleotide sequencing
* Ability to independently conduct and analyze experiments supporting project goals
* High degree of technical proficiency and attention to detail
* Quick and eager to master new techniques and ability to multitask
* Good organizational, data analysis and documentation skills
* Ability to work within a fast paced and highly collaborative environment
* Previous experience in assay development is preferred
* Experience using literature/search engines/databases to pursue science
* Experience with Microsoft excel and PowerPoint. Programing experience is desirable but not required
