  • Location: Temecula, CA
  • Time: 40 hours a week
  • Shift: 1st shift - 7am or 8am start time
  • Looking for someone with a biology/ molecular science background, experienced in a laboratory.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Manufacture products for Life Science business unit resulting in customer satisfaction, compliance with applicable governmental and environmental health agency regulations and achievement of internal production objectives.

As directed, partner with R&D, Tech Transfer, and other departments to contribute to the successful development and manufacture of new products.

1. Successful manufacture of products
  • On time Manufacture of products as needed per Planning department
  • Perform standard and new operating procedures
  • Execution of complex laboratory methods.
  • Perform procedures involving calculations and material measurements.
  • Collect and prepare data for evaluation
  • Operating standard laboratory equipment
  • Preparation of routine solutions and reagents
  • Utilize software, LIMS and ERP, for data entry and record keeping in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory specifications
  • Participate in production failure investigations as directed
  • Contribute to the overall manufacturing performance metrics (productivity, customer satisfaction and quality improvements)
  • Support activities to resolve process and testing issues
  • Conduct laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies
  • Filling, labeling and packaging of products

2. Improve manufacturing processes
  • Actively participate in the identification of processes for improvement
  • Assist in the implementation of manufacturing procedures intended to optimize existing processes, such as yield, time and cost, and ensure achievement of regulatory and customer requirements
  • Train on new SOPs, technologies etc. to support the manufacture of new products

3. Ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory specifications
  • Comply with applicable established cGMP, FDA, OSHA, EPA, and Quality System regulations

4. Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors degree in a Life Science discipline preferred but not required; 0-2 years related laboratory experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of laboratory techniques such as chemical/buffer formulations, sterile and aseptic techniques, pH meter use.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • E. Coli fermentation experience (MUST HAVE)
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the use of basic scientific laboratory equipment such as pipettes, scales, pH meters, fume hoods, filters, cell counters, microscopes, CO2 incubators, BioSafety Cabinets and centrifuges
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Sterile / Aseptic technique required
  • Ability to handle biologically hazardous materials
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems, Oracle and/or SAP preferred
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel software programs
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet manufacturing production schedules
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability create clear, concise written reports and accurate completion of batch records
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Adherence to Quality and Regulatory requirements/programs
  • Ability to write and, or edit Standard Operating Procedures
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment * Highly collaborative and team oriented

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job listed below.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
  • Vision Must be able to video display images for extended periods of time up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Lifting and moving Up to 25lbs
  • Pushing Job requires pushing production materials and wheeled carts
  • Sitting Frequently as required by the process Standing Frequently as required by the process
