Monte Rosa Tx is seeking an energetic and self-motivated scientist to join a team of scientists working towards discovery of unique molecular glue degraders for the treatment of targeted patient populations in oncology. The candidate will be a highly motivated experimentalist with collaborative skills and a strong desire to succeed at the highest level.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Validation of hits from high-throughput screens using medium-throughput plate based cellular assays, and/or high content cellular imaging assays

Independently design, execute and interpret cell-based experiments to validate or optimize molecular glue degraders and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets

Develop and independently perform an array of molecular biology assays (e.g. viability assays, western blotting, QPCR, and/or flow cytometry/FACS) to define mechanism of action of molecular glue degraders

Utilize cDNA, CRISPR, and shRNA to generate stable cell lines

Active interaction and management of external CROs focusing on preclinical studies, compound progression, in vivo efficacy experiments, reagent generation, assay development and validation

Participate in team drug discovery biology efforts to select lead candidate molecules and transition into clinical development.

Interpret, present and report research findings at internal and external meetings.

Requirements

BS/MS or PhD equivalent in cell/molecular biology, cancer biology or genetics with at least 5 years hands-on experience in drug discovery preferably in a pharmaceutical setting

Experience with molecular biology methods and assays such as RNA and protein expression approaches (e.g. QPCR, Western blotting) as well as various genetic perturbation tools, including cDNA, shRNA/RNAi, and CRISPR reagents

Previous work with culture and maintenance of mammalian cell lines, including transfection and transduction techniques, as well as stable cell line generation

Prior experience preparing drug dilutions and performing drug sensitivity/viability experiments

Experience with signal transduction studies, RNASeq and proteomics data analysis and interpretation

Experience and/or willingness to work extensively with external CROs to support project progression and meet deadlines

Ability to maintain timely and detailed notes using electronic lab notebook as well as demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism; willingness and ability to learn new software as needed

Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to learn a variety of new techniques and biological approaches; ability to work in a matrixed team and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
