General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the environment (including the broader community impacted by environmental hazards) and employees.
Responsibilities:
Creating and implementing health, safety, occupational and environmental programs to prevent injuries and illnesses within the workplace and environmental accidents
Inspecting workplace and environmental incidents in accordance with company procedures and implementing corrective actions
Ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements related to environmental and employee health and safety and identifying areas for improvement
Developing and managing an environmental and employee health & safety training plan
Maintaining relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders impacted by the environmental performance of the organization
Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner;
Other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Prior experience in Safety or Environmental Health & Safety preferred
OSHA experience preferred
Progress toward EHS credentials preferred
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, with capability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization
Collaborative style, must partner with stakeholders at site location(s) as well as cross-functionally
Analytical capabilities required to develop and produce metrics
Lead by example - be an advocate of safety and environmental philosophies, programs, policies, and procedures
