Lecturer - Biology - Department of Integrative Biology
University of California, Berkeley

The Department of Integrative Biology (IB) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of part-time or full-time, temporary, non-tenure track Lecturer positions to teach IB courses and General Biology (BIO 1B) courses as need arises. Our department's emphasis is on organismal biology.

Due to COVID 19 UC Berkeley will begin the spring semester with fully remote instruction. UC Berkeley is prepared to implement hybrid and/or flexible modes of instruction as soon as public health conditions allow. Remote instruction may be synchronous, asynchronous, or a combination of both. Instructors must have internet access and be prepared to adjust pedagogical approaches with a remote setting and use new teaching tools.

Appointments for Fall semesters are usually reviewed in April, Spring semester appointments are reviewed in September, and Summer appointments are reviewed in January. Positions typically start at the beginning of the semester, and appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance. Positions may range from 15% to 100% depending on the number of courses taught and duties performed.
