JOB SUMMARY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN:
The Environmental Technician will be responsible for executing routine environmental inspections for SPCC, stormwater, and wastewater operations. The candidate will operate and maintain water treatment units at three (3) facilities. The ideal candidate performs standard work to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN:
Maintain elementary neutralization wastewater treatment systems by conducting routine inspections, responding to alarms, monitoring systems, refilling neutralizing chemicals, and ordering supplies
Maintains all applicable records for compliant operation of wastewater systems
Conducts routine inspections for stormwater and SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure) program
Serves as active member of emergency spill response team
Partner and collaborate with the business and operations management
Supports functions and cross functional teams to implement and administer environmental programs, procedures, and practices
Contribute sand participates in company EHS program evaluations and EHS initiatives
Collects samples from raw, semi-processed, or processed industrial wastewater for analysis
Inspects and maintains data collection system on wastewater treatment units
Maintains data collection instrumentation
Conducts site wide chemical inventory
Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, vacuum equipment, and oil spill equipment
Performs basic calculations and computer data entry
Prepares and maintains necessary reports and records, as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN:
Associate's Degree (1-3 Years) Associates degree in chemistry, environmental, or relevant scientific field
Environmental Standards (1-3 Years) Experience performing environmental technician work, including operating water treatment systems
MS Office (1-3 Years)
Water Monitoring( 1-3 Years) 3+ years of wastewater operator experience
