ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teaching character education lessons to K-8 grade students to help them develop life skills, positive relationships with peers and adults and a positive self-esteem.
  • Works with Dean of Students to coordinate the schoolwide character education program.
  • Delivering instruction in the classroom using an evidence-based curriculum.
  • Long-term unit planning and daily lesson planning.
  • Continuous collaboration with teaching staff.
  • Integrating feedback into lesson delivery.
  • Adapting activities for scholars of all ages and abilities.
  • Maintaining a strong classroom culture that is consistent with our standards and high expectations.
  • Participation in school functions, including student activities and events.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all participants.
  • Assists in training faculty and staff on character education program.
  • Coordinate activities with community groups involving GCA and character education.
  • Keeps up to date with character education program and best practices
  • Communicates character education activities to school stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with character education team members for presentations on staff development days.
  • Cultivates relationships with local and state government, businesses and community partners to build and enhance partnerships and their involvement in the program.
  • Completes all lesson planning, reports, grading, documentation, and other necessary paperwork in a timely and professional manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree required in Education or related field.
  • 3-6 years' certified teaching experience and/or student program oversite.
  • Ability to establish and manage trusted relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Student Information. System (SIS), preparing reports and visual presentations
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • No physical exertion required.
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA's salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the organization.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the organization.

DECLARATION

The Human Resources Department retains the sole right and discretion to make changes to this job description. Any employee making changes unauthorized by Human Resources Department will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
