*POSITION*: Fulltime, tenure-track, open rank, Assistant Professor preferred in the Biology and Biomedicine programs with a focus on a systems-level understanding of human biology.

*QUALIFICATIONS: *Broadly-trained Ph.D. with an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration; evidence of scholarship and a research program that can involve students. Teaching experience and/or post-doctoral work experience preferred. Ideally, this experience would include teaching at the college/university level and use of participatory, engaged pedagogical practices. Candidates with expertise in Human Anatomy, Physiology, Molecular Biology and/or Neurobiology are preferred.

*RESPONSIBILITIES:* Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate expertise for teaching one or more of the following courses: Cadaver-based Anatomy, Physiology, Bioinformatics, Neurobiology, and Molecular/Cellular Biology. Teaching load will be determined based on candidate expertise and departmental needs. The Biology and Biomedicine programs emphasize open-ended, question-driven laboratory experiments, discussion of ethical and religious implications of biology and medicine, and research. The Biology department has an excellent record of success for alumni achieving admission to health sciences graduate and professional studies; thus we seek someone enthusiastic about mentoring students into health science careers. Applicants must have a strong commitment to serving and working within a community of diverse learners.

*POSITION DETAILS*: Nine-month contract, 24 semester hours per year. Salary determined by education and experience. EMU uses a tenure with post-tenure review contract system.

*APPOINTMENT DATE*: Positions begin August 15, 2022. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
