CHA Consulting, Inc., is currently seeking a Scientist II to join our Bridge Business Practice in our East Hartford, CT office.

Nearly one out of every ten bridges is structurally deficient. As the average age of our nation's bridges nears 50 years, successful bridge projects must balance complex analytics, engineering innovation and context sensitivity with economic prudency and long-term feasibility. CHA's bridge professionals incorporate collaborative and diverse thinking with practical and cost-effective designs that responsibly improve mobility and safety. We have inspected, designed, managed and overseen the construction of a wide array of grade separated crossings, retaining systems, and conveyance structures throughout the United States.

Our Scientists are experts with the company's and client's methods, standard operating procedures, reporting templates, and practices. While in office, our Scientists work on data analysis, reporting, and completion of permits. Our Scientists also participate in assessments, design concepts or components thereof, and perform comparative cost analyses. At CHA, our Scientists also conduct field work and as a result, prepare information to be utilized by managers, colleagues, and clients.

Our Scientists play an important role in evaluating the potential impact of federal, state and local environmental regulations. Project permitting preparation regularly include compliance with state, federal and local requirements such as USACE, NEPA, Tribal and Historic Agencies, NOAA, USCG, FEMA and more.
