Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team. This role reports to the HR Director at our plant in Bloomington, MN and is considered a critical member of the CPP-Minneapolis team, working closely with all levels of the organization on a daily basis. This position is accountable for directing and maintaining a healthy, safe and productive workplace through the education and training of employees in safe work practices, knowledge of emergency procedures, administration of company safety policies for compliance with health, safety and environmental state and federal regulations.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations, ensuring CPP Minneapolis is in compliance with state, federal and county government regulations
  • Accompany inspectors through the plant, prepare reports for government agencies and make application for permits as necessary
  • Develops and maintains programs, policies and best practices for safety, fire protection and good housekeeping to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of employees
  • Work closely with operations and facilities on EHS improvements
  • Train employees on company safety policies and procedures and properly maintain all training records
  • Investigates accidents, incidents and medical problems, conducts root cause analysis and initiates corrective actions to prevent further illness or injury
  • Perform routine inspections of the plant for hazardous conditions, including monthly fire suppression equipment inspections
  • Administers the workers compensation program, including claim filing, follow-up with the injured worker and the return to work program
  • Manage environmental permits and required programs, partnering with the Facilities & Maintenance team
  • Responsible for safety eyewear, annual hearing testing and hearing conservation program at the Minneapolis facility
  • Reinvigorate the EHS committee, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials and coordinating team activities
  • Develop, maintain, and report out on all safety scorecard metrics
  • Participate in property risk insurance audits
  • Drive EHS corrective actions and preventative actions to closure and/or develop mitigation strategies
  • Participate in Corporate EHS process improvements and initiatives
  • Manage EHS consultants ahead of schedule to ensure EHS compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors' degree in EHS Sciences or related field required
  • Experience: 4+ years previous Environmental, Health and Safety experience required for this role
  • Certifications/Licenses: None
  • Working knowledge of Environmental, Safety, and Transportation regulations
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to work with others through complex situations
