KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as local expert in environmental and safety issues
Maintain records associated with environmental and safety regulations and standards and company management system
Participate in investigations of safety and environmental related incidents
Advise local management in regards to environmental and safety regulations, standards and best practices
Collaborate with outside agencies as necessary
Compile and analyze data to provide reports to local and company management
Participate in the review and update of policies, procedures and programs
Collect samples and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with environmental permits
Facilitate and arrange safety and environmental related training for managers, supervisors, employees and contractors
Evaluate the effectiveness of EHS policies and practices
Ensure requisitions are entered for supplies and review and approve invoices for services provided
Manage waste streams and provide recommendations for minimizing waste
Supervise on-site EHS Technicians
Coordinate third-party site security services
Ensure the integrity of the physical security of the plant site
Responsible for waste tracking
New hire training and contractor orientation
Standardize Safety documents and procedures
SME on OSHA regulations and interpret their application to the company
RCRA, SWPPP, and SPCC program
Administer incident investigation and ensure compliance
LOTO program
Contractor auditing and management
Ability to travel
Familiar with TCEQ and WPA regulations
Perform field inspection activities for regulatory compliance EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
Extensive knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, standards and best practices
Effective communication skills; ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization with confidence, respect and integrity
Ability to analyze information, solve problems, work in a team environment as well as on your own, prioritize tasks & projects, mange time effectively and function effectively in stressful situations
Experience with 5S, continuous improvement processes and/or ISO management systems strongly preferred
Strong computer skills
Demonstrations organizational and time management skills
Demonstrates attention to detail
Ability to adapt communication to audience
Bilingual a plus
Environmental regulatory knowledge
7+ years experience in LOTO
5+ years of EHS experience
2+ years experience managing multiple sites EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and/or Health/Safety field
Experience with ISO 14001, 45001 and OHSAS 18001, Integrated Management Systems, and associated documentation and audits
OSHA 30
RCRA, SWPCC, DOT CRITICAL COMPETENCIES & CAPABILITIES:
