Responsibilities:

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be joining Cadmus' rapidly growing practice supporting contracts with EPA and other government clients in the areas of geospatial analysis, climate resilience, and data management. You'll be performing a variety of environmentally based geospatial analyses, data processing, and data visualization tasks, as well as researching and developing new technical approaches based on client requirements. Example projects might include developing and maintaining online interactive tools for water utility climate adaptation; and analyzing and reporting data on drinking water quality, surface water quality, or watershed conditions.

Candidates will be considered for Waltham MA, Arlington VA, Madison WI, and remote work locations.

Responsibilities:

Provide expertise in climate resilience and climate data analysis methodologies for resilience products focused on the water sector using ArcGIS Online products, among others.

Evaluate and develop methods to include national climate data sets in climate resilience tools for the water sector.

Develop methods to extract, clean, and organize data from a variety of sources, including spreadsheets, databases, APIs, or web services.

Provide quality assurance and guidance on the development of data analysis documentation and reports including methodologies.

Manage projects, monitor progress against milestones and budgets, coordinate client requests and expectations, and ensure high quality deliverables.

Supervise development of reports, case studies, presentations, and other documents for technical and non-technical audiences.

Lead or assist in business development activities including opportunity identification and proposal development.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have a professional demeanor and will have distinguished themselves with academic and professional excellence and a clearly demonstrated work ethic. They should be highly motivated to perform and learn, are detail oriented, able to work collaboratively and independently, and able to manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish. Candidates should also possess exceptional research, oral and written communication, and analytical skills, enabling them to support Cadmus' mission to successfully meet clients' needs.

BS/BA in environmental and/or climate change science and policy, geography, GIS, or other relevant area and 6+ years' experience, or MS and at least 4 years in relevant area, with coursework or professional experience with EPA regulatory programs and water or climate science.

Proficiency in advanced geospatial analysis with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcPro, or QGIS, preferably with experience using ArcGIS Online to develop interactive web-based maps.

Significant experience using large environmental datasets and geospatial data layers, such as climate, land use, demographic, ecological, hydrologic, or water sampling data.

Data analysis programming using R/Python and associated libraries, including experience with tidy data principals and knowledge of data visualization packages such as ggplot. Skills in developing data visualization using platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik; familiarity with database architecture and one or more database platforms (e.g., Oracle or SQL Server); and familiarity with web application development (e.g., JavaScript, Drupal) are also desired.

Demonstrated experience providing instruction and oversight for junior staff to complete technical tasks.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Project/task management experience.

Limited domestic travel may be required post-COVID.
