MOE provides exceptional client service in the fields of environmental protection, watershed management, regulatory compliance, engineering, and construction management, and storm water pollution prevention services to multiple organizations and partners in California.

MOE is currently looking for new team members at entry, mid, and senior levels of the organization depending on applicant qualifications and experience. Positions can focus on supporting project managers with regulatory compliance through excellent client service, fieldwork, government agency consultation, science-based solutions, and technical report preparation, as well as management and leadership opportunities. Qualified applicants must be highly self-motivated, flexible, and able to manage their own schedules to meet deadlines as both an individual and part of a team.

The following duties and areas of knowledge are provided as examples, and may or may not be included depending on changing business needs:
  • Perform complex data analysis and synthesis to develop science-based conclusions.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Assist or lead teams with effective project implementation, coordination, and communication.
  • Interact with members of the public, including property owners, business owners, and contractors.
  • Knowledge and application of methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparation.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Perform compliance monitoring as identified in storm water regulatory permits and plans and construction drawings for proper implementation, installation, and maintenance of Best Management Practices (BMPs).
  • Perform compliance monitoring including reviews and evaluations of storm water documentation including the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
  • Perform fieldwork and compliance monitoring duties such as water quality monitoring and inspections.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications; including Microsoft Word & Excel. AutoCAD | GIS proficiency is preferred but not required.


Education/Licenses/Certificates
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, engineering technology, science-related, construction management, science, chemistry, biology, environmental science, ecology, geography, or sustainability studies is required, or an equivalent amount of a combination of education, technical training, and additional experience will be considered.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and a dependable vehicle for travel are required.
  • PE, EIT, QSD, QSP, or CPESC certification is preferred, and MOE offers training opportunities to complete certifications after hire.
