Rhodium Group is recruiting a Research Intern to join the companys China Corporate Advisory team for a term of six (6) months, starting in the fall of 2021 or early 2022. Interns will be based out of our NYC or Paris office, whether working in-office, hybrid, or remotely.

Position Description

Rhodium is looking for talented Interns to join our world-class team of researchers on Chinas economy and global footprint. With a focus on Chinese policies and their global impact, you will support the teams efforts to produce cutting-edge research on China, and contribute to data collection and analysis, policy monitoring, and the writing of reports and other key deliverables.

Position Responsibilities

The Research Interns will primarily support Rhodiums China Corporate Advisory team, working on short-form research tailored to our corporate clients. Interns will be working on a range of topics from Chinas economy and global footprint to EU-China and US-China policies. Please state in your cover letter which of the two topics below you are most interested in:
  • China Economic and Policy Developments: Intern will help the team evaluate the trajectory of Chinese economic policymaking in key areas and support related data compilation and analysis
  • US-China Relations: Intern will monitor and analyze political and economic developments in the US-China relationship
  • EU-China Relations: Intern will monitor and analyze political and economic developments in the EU-China relationship
  • Chinese Technology Policy: Intern will monitor and analyze developments in Chinese technology policy, potentially including data regulation, antimonopoly, and semiconductor industry policy
  • Chinas New Energy and Climate Policies: Intern will track and evaluate Chinese climate policies and related industry dynamics (US or EU time zone working hours)

Qualifications

Eligible candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • A current or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree program in international economics, international affairs, China/Asia studies, political science, data science, or related fields
  • Enthusiasm and passion for bringing objective analysis to the China policy debate; some initial work experience with applied policy and economic research preferred but not essential
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to conduct research and produce assignments independently and at high quality; willingness to leave the comfort zone and take on responsibility; ability to communicate clearly and effectively both within the firm and externally
  • Writing and speaking requirements: Native speaker in English or Chinese, with working proficiency in the other language. The ideal candidate can read and analyze Chinese policies, press conferences, data, reports, media, and research

Interns will be based in our NYC or Paris office, whether working in-office, hybrid, or remotely.
