  • Prepare NEPA technical documents, including inputs to Description of Proposed Action and Alternatives (DOPAAs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSIs) Findings of No Practicable Alternatives (FONPA) Records of Decision (RODs) and Section 7 consultation packages.
  • Preparing Biological Assessments for ESA compliance.
  • Preparing and overseeing development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401.
  • Stream and River restoration planning.
  • Conducting field surveys for vegetation, wildlife, and wildlife habitat.
  • Performing wetland delineations.
  • GIS based mapping and analysis.
  • Water quality sampling and analysis.
  • Environmental oversight during construction.
  • Assist in business development for biological/environmental work.
  • Conduct reconnaissance level surveys to identify invasive species, migratory birds, and federal and state listed species for various states across the US. Interpret and synthesize large data sets for flora and fauna surveys.
  • Prepare management plans such as Integrated Natural Resources Management Plans and survey reports.
  • Assist with planning and execution of reviews and actions for compliance with the Endangered Species Act, to include meetings, preparation of biological assessments, and other support for consultations with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA Fisheries
  • Support will require knowledge of federal, state, and/or local regulations and statutes, Air Force, Army, and DOD regulations and requirements.


  • BS in Biology/Natural Resources and at least 3-5 years of professional experience OR
  • MS in Biology/Natural Resources and at least 1-3 years of professional experience in environmental science including surveying, monitoring and permitting; delineation of wetlands, and restoration.
  • Experience preparing reports, NEPA, CWA and ESA documentation.
  • Knowledge of local plant, fish and/or wildlife species and their habitat requirements.
  • Experience developing habitat assessment, mitigation and/or monitoring plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with GIS
  • Experience with field data collection equipment including GPS

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25lbs.
