NOVA Workforce is recruiting experienced instructors/trainers to teach non-credit courses that will prepare students to successfully pass the CompTIA A+ certification exams. Courses are delivered in a synchronous format in-person, virtually, and/or hybrid.

Course Day/Time: TBD - courses may be offered evenings, weekends, or daytime bootcamps.

This posting is designed to build a pool of potential instructors. There may or may not be any positions currently available, however, in order to be considered for current/future openings, please follow the application process.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Provide hands-on instruction and practical training to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exams. Training should focus on exam objectives.

Create instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, student handouts, hands-on exercises, assessments, and training aids).

Evaluate students to ensure they are meeting learning objectives and are prepared for the certification exams.

Curriculum design and development.

Assist in class scheduling and program management.

Special Assignments   
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications   

Excellent organizational skills and classroom management skills.

Ability to communicate complex subjects in a clear and engaging way.

Ability to work with groups of varying ages, skills level, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work individually as well as on a team.

Must be a self-starter and innovative thinker.

Experience teaching "boot camp" style training courses is a plus.

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

Must hold active CompTIA A+ certification.

Two (2) years' experience teaching technical training programs.

One (1) years' experience teaching CompTIA A+ training program.

Professional experience using exam objectives in real-world use case scenarios.

Experience teaching adult learners.

Experience in curriculum design and development.

Preferred Qualifications   
Previous experience in an educational or training setting.

CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification.

Relevant industry experience.
