This is a Temporary position (3 + months)
The Responsibilities of the Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator:
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health and Safety management.
- Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation and prepare reports.
- Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulation, and make recommendations to facility management..
- Participate in detailed incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
- Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training.
- Corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
- Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support.
- Write, implement and manage EHS Programs, Policies and Procedures and conduct trainings as needed
- Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
- Perform Storm Water Discharge sampling and document events.
- Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
- Develop and Implement a Follow Fall Protection Program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records.
- Up to 10% travel to other Inline locations for meetings, training, inspections, etc.
- Ability to oversee Safety Incentive Programs.
- Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements for the EHS Coordinator:
- Prefer Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences or minimum of 1 year experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position; Technical writing a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willing to work different shifts and travel up to 10% of the time.
- Audits and promotes a safety culture with management and employees to increase proficiency in safe work practices and promote employee security
- Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree in the Safety discipline or equivalent plus two years related experience
- Ability to write routine procedures, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Work with mathematical statistics, probability and applications. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers, multiply and divide by 10's, and calculate figures and amounts such as percentages.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of situations. Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with non-verbal symbolism (formulas, equations, graphs, etc.)
