Research Assistant/Associate - Molecular Biology and biochemistry

Job Description Overview:
We are currently seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to support the projects related to metabolic engineering of conventional and non-conventional microbial hosts for the production of plant and microbial secondary metabolites. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in synthetic biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, synthetic biology, biochemistry, microbiology, metabolic engineering, and other related disciplines. Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems, are essential.
Responsibilities:
· Execute established assays and SOPs
· Design, modify, and clone DNA constructs, and performs PCR, cloning and other molecular biology experiments such as PCR, DNA purification, and transformation
· Execute established assays and SOPs
· Deliver high-quality results in a timely manner
· Communicate results with collaborators and prepare clear reports
· Keep SOPs updated
· Keep lab notebook accurate and up-to-date
· Make process improvements as directed
Required Qualifications:
· A Bachelor's or Master's degree with hands-on experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or other related fields
· Ability to work in fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment
· Experience with process improvement
· Familiar with handling living cells, such as E. coli, yeast, etc.
· Basic knowledge in sample tracking and data tracking
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience with genome editing in microorganisms.
· Hands-on experience with molecular cloning.
· Knowledge of analytical techniques such as Experience with HPLC, GC-MS, and/or LC-MS
