Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven individual whose knowledge and skills will help us take our EHS team to the next level. This position will oversee the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs for the company's headquarters and manufacturing operations in Waltham MA. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global EHS, you will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment as you work together with Manufacturing and Facilities to ensure compliance with all requirements. Responsibilities
In this role you will
* Establish controls and procedures to prevent incidents, injuries and environmental releases.
* Develop, implement, manage and monitor EHS programs/procedures/guidelines to assure compliance with all applicable regulatory and company requirements.
* Effectively influence at all levels of the organization in order to advance the safety culture.
* Ensure EHS systems effectively meet current / changing industry demands.
* Recommend corrective actions where appropriate and follow-up to verify completion.
* Represent the EHS group and company sites in interactions with other departments or locations as well as professional/industry groups, contractors and consultants.
* Understand industry best practice, current developments and opportunities arising for Repligen.
* Supervise operational staff.
Act as the EHS lead on cross functional projects to ensure alignment with procedures, regulations and business needs.
Manage project deliverables related to timing, effectiveness and budgetary requirements
Performs duties as instructed by management
Qualifications
Traits we believe make a strong candidate
Bachelor's degree in a science-related field and 10+ years of increasing responsibilities.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
* Performs duties as instructed by management
* The candidate must be well-versed in industry best practices, in particular core safety programs such as machine guarding, lockout/tagout, materials handling, slips/trips/falls, contractor management and ergonomics.
* Experience in fast-paced and growing manufacturing operations is highly valuable.
* The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership, independent decision-making and self-starting capabilities.
* The successful candidate will be expected to work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
* The individual may determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to contractors, vendors and all levels of the Repligen organization.
* The candidate should be capable of leading problem-solving exercises as well as individuals, committees and teams.
* High level of technical aptitude with demonstrated initiative and attention to detail
* Willingness to travel to other regional sites as required
