DuPont Water & Protection is recruiting for an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to join our dedicated team in Edina, MN. We are looking for people who have a passion for delivering innovative, sustainable solutions that meet our customer needs for a better, healthier, safer life.

EH&S Coordinators work to create and enforce a culture of safety within the organization. S/he implements programs, policies, and assessments to ensure their company complies with all federal, state, local, and internal health and safety rules. S/he may also review reports and findings to monitor performance and detect trends related to health and safety. S/he work in a variety of fields such as process safety, ergonomic development, environmental science, occupational safety, industrial hygiene and technology, and similar fields. Since their work involves identification and interpretation of federal, state, and local safety codes, they must have outstanding analytical skills as well as a strong attention to detail. The EH&S Coordinator work closely with leadership, fabrication, engineering, and maintenance teams, as well as support staff in order to accomplish their goals. S/he will participate on various site teams as part of this function.

As an EH&S Coordinator, you will:
  • Increase individual awareness and accountability for environmental requirements, by providing a plant subject matter resource to coach plant personnel on safety and health responsibilities, goals and the effective application of the EH&S work processes.
  • With guidance from the EHS Delivery Leader, will provide support in implementing new programs and policies due to federal, state, local, and business changes.
  • Ensures operating discipline is performed across the site utilizing audits such as procedure use and BBP, intervention, training, recognition, and any other resources to maintain consistent operating discipline.
  • Owner for many elements within ODMS section 6. Responsible for yearly assessment completion which may require retaining notes and documentation throughout the year pertaining to section gaps, conducting interviews, and working with various departments to identify gaps in section element.
  • Department and site resource for related safety and health on procedures, guidelines, and standards. Interprets federal, state, local, and business-safety rules and policies.
  • Works with global SME's as a resource for interpreting federal and business safety rules and policies.
  • Coordinate training for EH&S Focal Points in certification in Blood Borne Pathogens and First Aid
  • Coaches teams and individuals on safety and health related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in developing initiative to achieve business, site, and department safety goals. Demonstrates pro-active initiative in interpreting future safety incidents and implementing policies, procedures, and direction to avoid safety incidents.
  • Compliance Task Tool (CTT) management and coordination. Ensures tasks and documentation have been completed and submitted for library retention.
  • Performs and coordinates safety and health monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting often aligned to a specific department.
  • Performs safety reviews of new and upgraded equipment. The safety review process will often require coordination with the Tech. Center from conception, throughout design and approval, and upon installation.
  • Coordinates auditing training and completion. Facilitate investigations and resolution from auditing findings.
  • Facilitates investigations using formal and informal RCI tools. Documents findings in the Event and Action Item (E&AT) tool, LERs, opportunity tracking system, ODMS assessments, and other tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of Critical Work Standards with the ability to train, coordinate, and interpret rules, policies, and guidelines. Ability to work with DuPont Centers of Excellence (COE) to define site critical work and how to implement.
  • Participate in the development, training, and implementation of global, site, and plant safety-training programs. Will often be called upon as the subject matter expert (SME) for such training and can be asked to facilitate and coordinate safety-related training programs.


Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a 2-year technical degree, or equivalent AND five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety work experience is required, OR
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Process Technology, Occupational Safety, Science, or related discipline AND a minimum of five (5) years of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety work experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years Environmental, Health, and Safety within a manufacturing plant environment is required
  • Previous experience leading and providing subject matter expertise to colleagues is required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Windows are required
  • Willing and able to obtain certification in first aid, CPR and blood borne pathogens is required.
  • Must be able to facilitate one-on-one and group training.
  • This role is subject to confidential and proprietary information and will require the ability to be discreet in use of such information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, problem solving skills are required
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence
  • A self-starter who is self-motivated, acts like an owner, and can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks
  • Able to work within an empowered team environment and have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others
  • This position operates on standard weekday schedule; must be available to occasionally work off-shifts and overtime as demand requires.

    NOTE: The hours are from 6:30 am - 3 pm. Must be flexible to work other shifts and overtime when needed.

    NOTE: A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or Qualifying Asylee/Refugee)
