Available position

Scientist/ Senior Scientist, Computational Biology/ML for Biotherapeutic Design

General role: In coordination with scientific leadership, you would play a central role in designing and implementing Seismic?s pipeline, with particular focus on biotherapeutic design. As a Scientist/ Senior Scientist, you will be a part of a fast-paced AI/ML team dedicated to advancing discovery and pre-clinical programs. Successfully meeting these challenges will require not only a broad range of computational biology and ML skills, independent thinking, and an aptitude for troubleshooting, but also a strong, creative drive to develop new methods as the need arises.

Your work in this role would be in collaboration with scientists and computational experts throughout Seismic, learning and contributing to our pipeline, including the discovery of both tools and lead candidate biotherapeutics. You would be responsible for understanding project goals and for creatively optimizing solutions to ensure their success. Over time you would take on additional responsibilities and contribute to new projects.


? Develop computational methods for machine learning-based design of novel protein therapeutics

? Analyze in-house and published high-throughput experiments to iterate designs

? Work in close collaboration with experimental teams to evolve the overall technology platform

? Potential to co-lead project(s) with a discovery biology scientists

? Share recommendations and insight for pipeline improvement toward higher-throughput and efficiency

Basic qualifications:
  • PhD in computational biology, machine learning, or a related field
  • Demonstrated track record in computational biology/machine learning, in particular development and application of novel methods
  • Strong analytical thinker who can clearly communicate with computational and experimental biologists, team-oriented
  • Deep understanding of sequence/structure/function relationships of proteins
  • Solid development experience with Python, machine learning libraries and scientific stack

? Strong collaborative, organizational, and presentation skills

? Ability to document, maintain, and share an organized account of work and results

Preferred qualifications:
  • Analysis of high-throughput datasets from omics technologies (transcriptomics, scRNA, mass spectrometry)
  • Protein design/engineering
  • Immunoinformatics/immunogenomics
  • Cloud computing (AWS)
  • Mentoring and managing experience
