Tenure-track Faculty position for a Physiologist in Department of Cell Biology

The Department of Cell Biology at Emory University School of Medicine seeks outstanding applicants to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to complement department research interests in cell biology, developmental biology, and neuroscience (). We are particularly interested to recruit a molecular, cellular and/or systems physiologist to complement our interests in receptors and ion channels, signal transduction, plasticity, regeneration, injury and repair.

Desired applicants will have a Ph.D. or equivalent, post-doctoral experience, track record of productivity from graduate and postdoctoral research, and a commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion in STEM. A record of extramural funding is a plus. Recruits will participate in classroom instruction of medical and graduate students and contribute to a robust program of graduate-level research training that has placed Emory in the top tier of US national rankings for predoctoral NIH funding. Emory offers extensive opportunities for collaboration within our own biomedical research community, including Yerkes National Primate Research Center, and with neighboring institutions, including the Centers for Disease Control and surrounding colleges, such as Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, the Atlanta University Center Consortium of HBCUs, and UGA. The Atlanta metropolitan area continues to be rapidly growing, culturally diverse, and inclusive, offering an excellent and affordable quality of life.

The Department of Cell Biology currently has twenty-four faculty with diverse basic and translational research interests utilizing genetic model organisms and employing multidisciplinary approaches. The Department is positioned to undergo continued growth in the coming years and will offer competitive start-up, supportive environment, modern laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities, including the Integrated Cellular Imaging Core Facility ().
