All the responsibilities we will trust you with
  • Work in close collaboration with Leica Biosystems business units, selling units and function leaders and EHS team members to plan, develop, implement and lead all aspects of EHS/sustainability management strategy, program, policies and procedures, including goal setting, strategy and action plan development and execution, and performance measurement.
  • Analyze performance, set strategies, and lead development and implementation of action plans for continuous improvement of program structure, priorities and strategies to meet the needs of a dynamic, growing organization through outstanding EHS programs improving business performance.
  • Manage all EHS audits of LBS Globally and develop action plans, implement countermeasures, ans assure sustainability as appropriate.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations and customer requirements and ensure the presence of standard work for the management and preparation and submission of environmental reports in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure that EHS policies, risk assessment and management tools, audit and oversight processes, regulatory information resources, data management and metrics are in place to sufficiently manage EHS risks.
  • Lead global EHS review process to help detect accident/health hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures and ensure measures have been implemented and are producing the desired results.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matters most for this role:
  • 10+ years proven experience, with a minimum of 5 years of EHS management experience, including:
  • Must be able to lead and influence across levels and departments in multiple geographies. Ability to work up and down the organization in order to drive focus and impact of results. Must think and act strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint. Must be very customer focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or relevant discipline
  • EHS technical work in a manufacturing operations environment
  • Familiarity with all aspects of EHS management, including environmental sustainability and corporate governance
  • Experience with DBS or similar lean manufacturing systems and continuous improvement culture
  • Strategic thinking skills; must be able to think long-term, and be able to prioritize
  • Comfortable making trade-offs in a fast-paced, dynamic, resource-constrained environment
  • Willingness to travel, often internationally, roughly 25-30% of the time - international travel required

  • Ensure that the EHS team remains up-to-date and conversant with relevant laws, regulations and other requirements that impact EHS across their local areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as LBS Global EHS contact for relevant government agencies, Danaher EHS point of contact for LBS, and LBS representative on the Danaher EHS Operations Leadership Council. Mentor/coach associates with EHS responsibilities at LBS.
