Job Description
Who We Are:
Clean Water Action is a non-profit environmental political advocacy group founded during the passage of the landmark Clean Water Act in 1972. With over 1 million members in the U.S.
Our mission is to protect our environment, health, and quality of life for all communities. Clean Water Action advocates for strong environmental policy on the local, state and national level through coalition building and grassroots pressure. For 50 years Clean Water Action has succeeded in winning some of the nation's most important environmental protections through grassroots organizing, expert policy research and political advocacy focused on holding elected officials accountable to the public.
Currently, we are working on putting back the pieces of decades worth of commonsense environmental policy that were gutted during the previous administration.
Clean Water Action is dedicated to being an anti racist organization. We believe that those most affected by environmental degradation should have a voice at the table and solutions to environmental problems contribute to broader goals of justice for the most vulnerable among us.
In order to be an effective ally and partner in environmental justice work, we are working to create a culture that allows all people to thrive and grow within the organization. We know that a diverse staff will result in more varied, effective ideas and approaches to our campaign objectives, strategy, and tactics.
Candidates who possess a strong commitment to environmental, social, and political justice, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor will be well suited for this role. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
