Seeking an Associate Scientist to support therapeutic programs related to metabolism, inflammation, and associated disorders. You will execute experiments in order to characterize novel biological therapies. You will work under the direction of a Metabolism Scientist and will present your findings to the Biological Sciences team. You will have the opportunity to acquire new skills and to build strong professional relationships in a collaborative environment.

Our partner has several oral treatments between Preclinical Development and Phase 2 approvals. Title: Associate Scientist, Biology

Location: South San Francisco

Contract Terms: Direct Hire

Yearly Pay Rate: 90-111k; annual bonus potential; stock options; commensurate with education and experience

Work Authorization: Green Card or Citizen

Start Date: 11/8

Specific day to day responsibilities:

- Execute and assist in the design of experiments on rodent and human cell culture lines
- Assess mechanism of action, therapeutic potential, and PK/PD relationships for novel drug candidates, both in vitro and in vivo
- Conduct, troubleshoot, and optimize cell-based assays as well as ex vivo sample processing
- Maintain a detailed lab notebook, present findings internally, and assist in IND and patent submissions

Top 3 Requirements:

- Master's or Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar and 2-5 years of academic or industry experience with Inflammation or Immunology
- Proficiency with ELISAs, Western blot, and PCR operation
- Proficiency in statistics and associated analysis programs (GraphPad Prism, ImageJ, etc.)

Bonus Points for:

- Experience managing CROs or other outside partners
- Familiarity with in vivo models of metabolic disorders including: drug administration, blood collection, and necropsy
- Demonstrated history of seeking knowledge of new assays
- Experience isolating and manipulating blood components (rodent and/or human)
- Experience writing and submitting IND and patent applications
- Immunology experience
