Job Description:
Client currently seeking an innovative Scientist to join the Research Beyond Borders department, Regenerative Medicine group, located at our Ridgefield, Connecticut facility. You will join a team of highly experienced scientists working at the cutting edge of regenerative medicine. You will be supervised by a senior scientist and perform in vitro cell-based assays and drug candidate testing. Your work will directly contribute to drug target discovery and potentially drug development.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • After initial training, and under supervision, design, execute and troubleshoot cell-based assays, including functional stem cell differentiation, fluorescence activated cell sorting, etc.
  • Isolate primary cells from animal tissue, perform immunostainings and functional assays on cells and tissues .
  • Image and data analysis on Fluorescence and Confocal Microscope.
  • Perform biochemical and molecular biology experiments such as western blotting, qRT-PCR, ELISA, etc.
  • Analyze all data and effectively communicate results orally and in writing, with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Perform literature searches and extract relevant information from published protocols, etc. and implement them.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with department members to help drive project success.

Scientist II Requirements:
  • Experience in standard cell culture required.
  • Some familiarity with Image and data analysis on Fluorescence and Confocal Microscope.
  • Basic skills in standard biochemical and molecular biology techniques such as immunostaining, flow cytometry, ELISA and qRT-PCR.
  • Ability to quickly learn new techniques.
  • Ability to trouble shoot experiments and provide solutions, with supervision.
  • Possess written and oral communications skills and ability to prepare and present data to project teams.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Proficiency with presentation and data analysis software.

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution, in Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field and at least 2 years of lab experience in an academic or industry setting OR
  • Master of Science degree from an accredited institution in the same.
