Job Description
Selux is a Boston-based start-up company developing clinical microbiology diagnostic solutions to combat the antibiotic resistance epidemic. The company is seeking a motivated scientist to join its fast-growing team. The successful candidate will work closely with Selux's scientists and engineers to test and troubleshoot Selux's rapid antimicrobial susceptibility test systems for bacterial isolates and positive blood culture samples. The microbiologist will also be an integral part of the Selux clinical trial team during upcoming clinical evaluations of Selux's breakthrough technologies. The successful applicant will be a hard-working, dedicated scientist with a desire to grow by working on a fast-paced, highly-collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Microbial culture
- Blood culture using continuously monitored blood culture systems
- Routine and non-routine testing of Selux next generation AST systems
- Following and developing work instructions to perform testing
- Meticulous attention to detail in performing experiments and following established protocols
- Collaboration and interfacing with the Selux engineering team to improve and refine systems and testing workflows
Qualifications
- A BA/BS in Microbiology, Biology, Medical Lab Science (MLS), Clinical Lab Science (CLS), or a related field
- 1-2 years of relevant lab experience in a clinical, academic, or industry environment
- Excellent aseptic technique
- A desire to play a key role in developing new technologies
- An independent thinker and problem-solver, who is an enthusiastic and collaborative professional
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Passion about an early-stage start-up that aims to change industry and how healthcare is delivered!
