Fair-Rite Products Corp. in Wallkill, New York has an immediate opening for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator. We are a manufacturer with locations in New York, Illinois and China. This position will cover our locations in the U.S.
We are looking for an EHS coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be required to ensure all required programs are in place. You will also train employees on safety policies and practices, conduct regular inspections, generate health and safety assessment reports, and ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are adhered to.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations and strong leadership skills. You must also possess excellent communication and training skills and have an acute eye for detail.
Train employees on health and safety policies.
Conduct inspections and identify hazards and EHS violations.
Provide solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
Implement new health and safety protocols and measures to ensure compliance with regulations.
Monitor operational processes and employee activities.
Generate assessment documentation, incident, and accident reports.
Update and implement health and safety manuals.
Work with management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
Prepare and submit documents to the relevant organizations (i.e., OSHA, Worker's Compensation Board, EPA, Worker's Compensation Insurance Company).

Associate degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) in environmental engineering, safety management, or similar.
OSHA or similar EHS certification.
A minimum of two years' experience as an EHS coordinator.
Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong leadership and training abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
