Environmental Specialist

This person will provide department level leadership to the development and implantation of environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal governmental rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Include:

Develop and review all Environmental permits and exemptions in the regulatory areas of air, water and waste and maintain compliance.

Review facility reporting information prior to its submittal to regulatory agencies for accuracy and completeness.

Perform facility inspections and audits as required for regulatory compliance or per company policy on a timely basis.

Ensure that all environmental records, information, and reports required for regulatory compliance or per company policy are maintained and completed as needed and on a timely basis and that all records and information are properly safeguarded.

Implement programs to train all employees in proper work site environmental practices.

Prepare environmental department budgets and prepare detailed cost benefit analyses for major environmental related initiatives.

All additional environmental duties as needed as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree and related field with 5 years experience, or Master's Degree is related field with 2 years experience.

Preferred 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the environmental arena preferably including leadership experience.

Ability to solve complex problems, manage change, possess excellent leadership skills and be a team player.

Preferred: CEP, CHMM, REM, CEM, PE certifications. Will be willing to assist in getting some of these certifications.

Knowledge of local, state and federal environmental laws, rules and regulations, and must stay abreast to these.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required.
