Description:

Area of Responsibility (business specifics): Plan and conduct product and process research related to the development of microbial control technology for use in water treatment processes; specifically in the areas of utility water, paper processing, and food and beverage applications. Function as the technical lead in one or more R&D program(s), develop creative solutions to complex problems using advance theories and knowledge where no precedent exists, prepare technical reports with independent interpretation of data, coordinate the efforts of external resources related to specific projects or requests, direct the work of one or more professional and technicians, and establish a high level of scientific knowledge. Serve as technical resources/mentor to junior technology peers, applications, and field sales associates.

Desired Candidate Skills/Experience: A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline, preferably with expertise in the areas of environmental microbiology or microbial physiology. Good communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, a pragmatic outlook, and a scientific approach to problem solving are essential. Experience with statistics, design of experiment, and process simulation is desired. Strong preference will be given to qualified candidates with relevant prior industrial experience and a demonstrated ability to develop novel technologies in the area of microbial control.

Qualifications:

A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline, preferably with expertise in the areas of environmental microbiology or microbial physiology.

Candidates with MS degree with equivalent experience may also be considered for strongly qualified candidates.

Industrial experience is desirable.

Documented track record of innovation; academic or industrial based.

Experimentalist with a passion for hands on laboratory work.

Must be able to successfully work in a collaborative team environment.

Ability to adapt to changes in business needs and prioritize accordingly.

Demonstrated project planning acumen.
